How the Codex weekly limit is counted
Updated
OpenAI has not published this. The Codex pricing page says only 'Weekly limits may also apply' and points you to the usage dashboard for reset times. What is documented: the weekly limit is a second cap on top of the five-hour window, tracked per account; a full banked reset 'changes your weekly reset date'; after a purchased reset the next automatic weekly reset is seven days after your first request. Type /status in the CLI to see your own date.

How it is counted
The weekly limit is the second of Codex's two windows. The help center says it 'controls how much included work you can use over the weekly usage period', and that where both windows apply 'you need allowance remaining in both to continue'. OpenAI publishes five-hour estimates per plan but no weekly figures; the pricing page's only statement is 'Weekly limits may also apply.'
Your reset time is per account and is shown in the usage dashboard, in Settings → Usage, or by entering /status in an active Codex CLI session. Two things move it: 'Using a full banked reset refreshes your 5-hour and weekly Codex usage windows and changes your weekly reset date', and after a purchased reset 'your next automatic weekly reset is seven days after that request'.
Enterprise and Edu workspaces on flexible pricing are different: the pricing page says they have 'no fixed rate limits—usage scales with credits'. Everything on this page is about Plus, Pro and Business subscriptions.

FAQ
What is the Codex weekly limit on Plus or Pro?
OpenAI has not published a number for any plan. The pricing page gives five-hour estimates only and says 'Weekly limits may also apply'; it points you to the usage dashboard for 'current limits and reset times'. This site does not estimate the weekly cap.
When does my Codex weekly limit reset?
On your own account clock, not on a shared weekday. The exact time is shown in the usage dashboard, in Settings → Usage, or by typing /status in an active CLI session. Paste that time into the window tracker on this site for a countdown.
Does a banked reset move my weekly reset date?
Yes. The help center says a full banked reset 'refreshes your 5-hour and weekly Codex usage windows and changes your weekly reset date', and tells you to check Settings → Usage for the updated time.
Is the weekly reset the same as an official reset on the board?
No. Your weekly reset happens on your own schedule and refreshes only your account. The resets on the DidReset board are announced by OpenAI and refresh everyone at once; they do not change how your weekly window is counted afterwards.
