Because nobody outside the provider knows. Resets are goodwill decisions announced by a person, and the gaps on record run from under a day to well over a month, so a probability would be a guess dressed as a number. This board records what was actually announced, links every row to the original post, and shows the median gap as an estimate that says "estimate". If you want to be told the moment a real reset lands, subscribe instead of watching a dial.

A reset card. Instead of resetting everyone at once, Codex has sometimes handed out a reset you redeem yourself; redeeming it zeroes both your 5-hour and weekly windows. The board shows BANKED when the latest signal is a card rather than an account-wide reset.

Open Settings → Usage in the ChatGPT desktop app, on web or on mobile, or type /usage in the Codex CLI, select the usage summary showing "1 reset available" or "Full reset", check the expiry and confirm. OpenAI's help center says a full banked reset "refreshes your 5-hour and weekly Codex usage windows and changes your weekly reset date", and its Codex pricing page says banked resets "are usable for 30 days after they're granted". Not as far as Anthropic has published. As of 2026-09-18 only OpenAI documents a saved reset that you redeem yourself. Anthropic's help center (What is the Max plan?) describes a session limit that "will reset every five hours" and a weekly limit that "resets at a fixed time each week that is assigned to your account", with nothing to redeem; /usage inside Claude Code shows both clocks. When Anthropic announces an account-wide reset it appears on the Claude row with a link to the post.

OpenAI has not said. Its help center only says an automatic or global reset "refreshes the eligible usage limits specified in the announcement" and "won't appear as a saved reset in Settings", while a full banked reset is documented as one that "changes your weekly reset date". Users have reported their weekly date moving later after the September 2026 incident (openai/codex issues #45236 and #44443, user reports, not confirmed by OpenAI), so check Settings → Usage after any global reset. The board records the announcement; it does not read your account.

In the Codex CLI, /status and /usage show your current 5-hour and weekly windows and when they refresh. In Claude Code, /usage does the same. Paste that time into the window tracker for a countdown and a calendar file; the math stays in your browser.

UTC. Every time on the board ends in Z, and the station clock in the header shows UTC beside your local time. For a conversion, the "When does Codex reset?" pages under Look it up show the last reset and the next estimate in Beijing, New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Singapore, India, Sydney and UTC, with daylight saving applied on the day.

NEXT EST. is the last reset plus the median gap of that provider's last ten resets: a cadence estimate, not a promise, and blank when there is not enough history. When that date has already passed the cell reads ANY TIME and the estimate it was based on is printed underneath. STATUS turns OVERDUE once the gap since the last reset is past 1.5 times the recent median.
