Codex reset trackers compared

by vortwangUpdated

Eight sites track official Codex usage-limit resets: codex-reset.com, codex-resets.com, whenreset.dev, tibo.modelyard.dev, codexreset.org, codexrunway.com, hascodexratelimitreset.today and this one, DidReset. The table below scores nothing. It records, per site and per dimension, what was visible when each site was opened on 2026-09-18: whether it forecasts, lists history, covers Claude Code or Grok, links and archives sources, grades confidence, shows corrections, offers JSON or RSS, sends SMS, has Chinese pages, time-zone pages or error pages.

What the official docs say

There is no public statement on this. This site does not guess.

How it is counted

Method. On 2026-09-18 each site was fetched with an ordinary browser user agent: its home page, its history, method or about page where one exists, and the public endpoints it names (JSON, RSS, ICS, language variants). A cell records what those responses contained, quoted or paraphrased, with the site's own URL as the source. Nothing was inferred from marketing copy; where a feature was described but not reachable, the cell says so. The DidReset column was checked the same way, against the live site, not the code. Entry counts are the numbers shown that day and move daily.

Dimensions. The first nine follow Kingy AI's comparison of July 2026 (forecast, history, Claude Code coverage, a source per event, archived copies, confidence grades, visible corrections, machine-readable download, published method). Seven are added: Grok coverage, SMS or phone-call alerts, Chinese pages, an ICS calendar of official resets, an RSS or Atom feed, time-zone pages and per-error-message pages. 'Archived copy' means the post's text or a snapshot is kept beyond a link. 'Corrections visible' means a superseded record stays on the page with what replaced it, which no site in this table does; the closest are release notes (codex-reset.com) and a 'Record updated' timestamp (tibo.modelyard.dev).

Caveats. whenreset.dev's /claude page and /api/resets answered 503 during part of the check; its home page, /about, /llms.txt and a later /api/resets response were used instead. hascodexratelimitreset.today's status endpoint reported its automation as inactive, with the last classified post dated 2026-08-25. All seven sites that list history showed the same last Codex reset, 2026-09-12 08:09 UTC. This page is re-checked at least quarterly; the check date sits in the last column, and corrections against the evidence are welcome through the site's contact address.

FAQ

Which Codex reset tracker is best?

This page does not rank them. Pick by the dimension you need: codex-reset.com and codexreset.org publish probabilities, whenreset.dev and DidReset also cover Claude Code and Grok, tibo.modelyard.dev and codexrunway.com grade confidence per event, codex-resets.com has the longest plain list, and DidReset is the only one with SMS and phone-call alerts, time-zone pages and error-message pages. Every cell links to the site it describes.

Do the trackers agree on the last Codex reset?

On 2026-09-18 they did. All seven sites that list history showed the same last Codex reset, 2026-09-12 08:09 UTC, each linking the same post by @thsottiaux. hascodexratelimitreset.today shows no history; its status endpoint reported its automation as inactive with the last classified post dated 2026-08-25.

How was this table checked, and when is it re-checked?

Each site was opened on 2026-09-18 with an ordinary browser user agent, including its public JSON, RSS and language URLs, and each cell records what those responses contained; the check date is in the last column and in the Sources list. The table is re-checked at least quarterly, and corrections against the evidence are welcome through the contact address in the footer.
