How to check your remaining Grok usage in Settings → Usage
Updated
Open Settings → Usage in the Grok website or app. xAI's FAQ says the tab shows "A progress bar showing your current usage percentage" and "A percentage breakdown by product", and that "The usage pool limit resets every week on a schedule shown in the Usage tab in Settings." For Grok Bot, xAI's troubleshooting page points to Usage & Billing on the account access page. xAI publishes no per-plan numbers, and this site does not estimate them.

Steps
Paid Grok plans meter usage from one weekly pool shared across products; per xAI, "Different products cost different amounts depending on how much compute that product requires." The Usage tab in Settings is where the pool, its per-product split and its reset schedule live. xAI's FAQ describes this weekly pool only; it mentions no five-hour window.
When the pool is used up: "When your weekly usage limit is met, paid features will pause until your weekly limit resets. You will still have access to Grok's free tier limits." Extra Usage Credits "are used after your plan's included weekly usage is exhausted. Top up credits expire one year after purchase."
Grok Bot is metered separately. xAI's news post says "Grok Bot comes with its own usage, separate from your Grok and Cursor plans", and the overview states "Usage resets weekly." If usage is exhausted or an on-demand spending limit is reached, the troubleshooting page says to "review usage and billing from the account access page or Usage & Billing when that section is available."
- Open Settings in Grok
Sign in to Grok on the website or in the app and open Settings. The usage view is a tab inside Settings, not a chat command.
- Open the Usage tab
The FAQ describes the Usage tab in Settings as the place where your weekly pool and its reset schedule are shown.
- Read the progress bar
The bar is "A progress bar showing your current usage percentage" of the weekly pool. xAI does not publish what 100% corresponds to for any plan.
- Read the breakdown by product
Below the bar is "A percentage breakdown by product", so you can see whether Chat, Imagine, Voice or Build drained the pool. Different products cost different amounts depending on the compute they need.
- Note the weekly reset schedule
"The usage pool limit resets every week on a schedule shown in the Usage tab in Settings." That schedule is your own account clock; it is not the account-wide reset this board tracks.
- If the pool is met, wait or top up
Paid features pause until the weekly limit resets, while free-tier limits stay available. Extra Usage Credits are used only after the included weekly usage is exhausted, and top-up credits expire one year after purchase.
- For Grok Bot, check Usage & Billing
Grok Bot has its own weekly usage, separate from your Grok and Cursor plans. Review it from the account access page or Usage & Billing. If both a Cursor and a SuperGrok subscription are linked, "Grok Bot uses whichever has more usage."
FAQ
Is there a /status or /usage command for Grok?
The xAI documents linked below describe Settings → Usage for Grok and Usage & Billing for Grok Bot; neither page lists a chat command for checking usage. This site does not claim one exists or not beyond what those pages say.
How much weekly usage does SuperGrok include?
Not published. x.ai/pricing describes SuperGrok Plus only as "Significantly higher usage across Chat, Imagine, Voice & Build", and the FAQ gives the reset schedule without a number. This site does not estimate it.
What does the Grok Bot limit notice look like?
A Cursor user posted the banner on 2026-09-01: "You've reached your Grok Bot usage limit. It resets in 3 days." Cursor staff replied that "Your weekly usage resets on its own (the app shows the countdown)."
Has xAI ever reset everyone's weekly usage?
Yes. On 2026-08-26, when Grok Bot was added to more plans, @bot posted "We're also resetting weekly usage limits for all users." That kind of announcement is what this board records as a reset.
